Search Optimization Engine – You

Becoming The Spider: Next Generation SEO Tactics

Everyone has probably heard of Web 2.0 but very few know exactly what it is or how it can help your site’s rankings. Here are some Next Generation SEO tactics you can use to take full advantage of this new Web 2.0 generated SEO gold rush.

This is the heart of the new generation of web site development and Internet marketing.  The tools described in this article point out the new direction of SEO tactics that are taking hold for online business today.

Just when you believed you had all your SEO tactics figured out, the web goes and changes on you. Not just the rules of the game but it takes the whole web platform right out from under your feet and changes it. What’s a poor webmaster to do?

Web 2.0 changes the whole ballgame. It not only places the Internet user squarely in the middle of things, but it gives that user the means and power to create and manipulate data. Web 2.0 dramatically changes how we view and use the web. Actually, in many respects, it creates a whole new Internet.

What Is Web 2.0?
Just what exactly is Web 2.0? What does it mean? Is there a precise definition that all webmasters can get their heads around and understand? Not really, many believe Web 2.0 is just another one of those contrived buzzwords, signifying mostly marketing hype!

However, perhaps the simple definition can be found in the word "you"! Time magazine probably summed it up best by making reference to the "you" in user generated content. Web 2.0 is basically all the platforms that give us this brave new user-powered interactive Internet, generally referred to as ‘social media’.

Web 2.0 can be seen or manifested in such sites as YouTube, MySpace, Del.icio.us, Digg, Squidoo… Web 2.0 uses scripting languages such as Python, Perl PHP, RSS… to construct interactive platforms that websites can use to create all this user-generated content.

Many refer to these evolving formats and scripting platforms under the name AJAX and no this does not refer to the popular cleaning agent under your kitchen sink! This AJAX (Asynchronous JavaScript and XML) comes from Google and takes web based interactive programs such as Google Maps, something that’s usually associated with desktop applications, but is now being applied on the web. If you have used Google Earth, you will realize how powerful and revolutionary these new applications can be, not to mention, they are a whole lot of fun.

Where Did The Name Web 2.0 Come From?
Many point to Tim O’Reilly, the constant innovator of many technological changes on the web. O’Reilly has been at the forefront in discussions and conferences on the nature and substance of the ‘meme’ open source platforms dominating the new social media.

How all this new media plays out is anyone’s guess but all webmasters should optimize their sites for this new Web 2.0 and take full advantage of all the SEO possibilities presented by this brave new Internet.

Here are a few SEO suggestions you can try:
1. RSS/Blogging You must place a blog and RSS feed on all your sites. This is a fairly simple procedure to do with free server-based programs such as WordPress. Having a blog and RSS feed will place your site into the whole tagging process. Each category you create in your blog will be seen as a tag by such sites as Technorati. RSS stands for ‘Really Simple Syndication’ and your RSS feeds will get your content distributed across the web. A simple and easy way to tap into the new Web 2.0 universe.

2. Create some Google Juice! Join as many of these highly interactive sites as you can: MySpace, YouTube, Del.icio.us, Digg, Wikipedia … my favorite is Squidoo, where you can create Lenses on different topics that interest you. User driven content that’s utilized by all the major social media sites. Of course, link back to your sites in your posts and creations in these user-created content havens and watch your PR ratings go way up.

3. Use Interactive Scripts Place interactive JavaScripts and platforms on your own sites. Have membership forums, polls, blogs, feedback forms, user-contributions… to build unique content driven sites. Become the spider!

4. Tagging (Folksonomy) Be constantly aware of the tags (keywords) you’re creating with your blogs and sites. This can have a very beneficial effect on your traffic and rankings. Closely relate these tags to the content on your sites and build higher rankings in all the major search engines.

5. The Long Tail Especially important for affiliate marketers, you need to cover special niches where there is less competition and content. These narrow niches make up a large portion of the whole vast web, creating content in these unique areas will get your site included in the search engines a lot quicker and keep them there a lot longer.

6. Holistic Web 2.0 Be constantly vigilant in placing your sites in the whole ‘Interactive Game’, building links and partnerships with the important YouHubs: MySpace, Del.icio.us, YouTube, Digg, Squidoo… the more connections you have, the more your own sites will prosper.

Be The Spider!
No doubt, Web 2.0 will play an ever increasing role in the development and evolution of the web. Make sure your sites are optimized and in the ‘You’ game. Create blogs, RSS feeds, interactive forums, membership areas, user-generated content and truly make your sites interactive havens in their own right. Just remember to tag everything and your sites will reap the benefits of this new Web 2.0 generated SEO gold rush.

Using SEO to Achieve Top Rank on Google

SEO – How to Get A Top Ranking in Google

This article describes how to get a top position in Google; it also tells what not do when trying for a high ranking position.

When starting an internet business or service one of the goals which should be foremost in the mind of the owner is how to achieve the top ranking in Google for the service or product that you are offering.

It’s a dream come true for a webmasters site to appear at the top of Google’s search results, especially if the website is actually selling a product or service. In a competitive industry this would mean that the orders would start rolling in with such a force that the business would grow incredibly quickly. Is it all just a dream? NO! I’ve done it for hundreds of businesses and you can do it for yourself too.

The first and foremost task when trying to get your site to the top of Google is to start link building, not just any old link building but having your keywords included in your "anchor". Anchor links are when the links are actually clickable, if for example you were selling green buttons the link would not be a www link. It would actually say "green buttons".

The next step is choosing the correct keyword phrases for your site. Now most people want to be on the first page of Google for a one word phrase like "Buttons". However, if you only sold buttons made of silver, it would be bringing you the wrong type of customer. It would be best to choose keyword phrases like "Silver Buttons" or "Buttons made of Silver". This would bring you the right type of customer and it your Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) efforts would show results a lot quicker.

Integrate the keyword phrases throughout your site with your best ones on your homepage. Without the keywords on your site, your site will not perform at all.

The next step is to actually go out and get some back links to your site, be smart about whom you get links from, as websites that are relevant to your industry will have far more weight when it comes to giving you good results. Getting a few powerful links with a page rank of 6 or 7 will give you almost immediate results and I have personally seen websites make it onto the first page within a couple of days.

Define Search Engine Optimization

SEO – About Search Engine Positioning Strategy

A definition and description of basic search engine optimization (SEO) strategies that are commonly used to increase website traffic, sales and membership conversions.

Don’t make the mistake of thinking that search engine optimization is a hit and miss proposition. It is a fine marketing art that anyone can learn and search engine optimization techniques. They are used to exponentially increase sales and membership conversions. To make a big profit on the Internet it is crucial that you try and maintain your site within the top ten page rankings in search engines and directories. Eighty percent of all web traffic comes from Internet searches done on these engines and directories.

To get your site within those top ten rankings you need to follow a progressive SEO strategy. The general approach is to include your search engine optimized language in the form of key words in your web page’s titles, descriptions and Meta tags. A meta-tag is a piece of HTML cod that is created specifically to help bring your web page to a search engine spider’s attention. The spiders and bots will notice these tags but they are not visible to people who view your site.

However to make life complicated there is some debate about whether or not you actually need to use meta-tags on your web pages. This is because there is a belief out there that the major search engines are changing the way they search pages as inserting meta-tags in your copy is considered to be an unfair advantage over sites that might be just as legitimate as yours. Still to be on the safe side the insertion of meta-tags into your copy should still probably be an essential component of your search engine positioning strategy.

One reason that this has become a topic of debate is because in the early days of online internet business and search engine rankings, meta tags were used as the key ranking value.  Firms seeking traffic then used to perform "key word stuffing" of the meta tags to drive traffic to pages and sites that did not have content based on those meta tags and, as a result, this tag became less relevant to search engines.

Yet another strategy is to also put in as many links as you can to other websites as the search engine spiders love sites that contain lists of links to other sites and rank them higher in the search engine ranking pages. The higher your ranking is, the more money you will make as a web business as you will maximize the number of visitors to your web site.

Getting The Most From Your SEO Agency

A lot of SEO clients aren’t getting the most out of their SEO engagements. Not because the SEO agency is doing anything to be deceptive or being uncooperative in any way, but simply because the SEO client hasn’t put much thought or energy into the project.

Effective Emotions For SEO

You probably know by now that emotions are an effective spice for SEO copywriting. They can make even the dullest, most unoriginal product seem positively crucial to the average reader. That’s how they can generate results that are so critical to a web sites success.

Marketing with SEO Article Content

Article Marketing in SEO

Article marketing offers you 4 main benefits, all of which deliver visitors to your web site. And best of all, it’s likely to continue sending you visitors for years.

This is a great way to provide traffic to a web site that does not require any capital from the business owner.  Only effort on the part of the article writer and deploying the articles on article subscription services is all that is required. This is a good method for people that are just starting an online company.

An original article published on a third party site can send targeted visitors to your site for years. In fact, there are 4 main benefits to article marketing…

1. You give people in your target market another way to find you
2. You can link back to your site
3. Links from your article are contextual
4. You can combine article marketing with on-site lead generation

Let’s take a closer look at these benefits, and find out how to make them work for you.

Another way to find you

I tend to think of each article I write as a net that catches visitors. The more nets I put out in the world, the more visitors I catch.

In the case of articles, they only catch visitors willing to read the article. This means they only deliver people likely to be interested in my services (they’ve read the article and clicked through to my site).

A good article will continue to send visitors for years. My most successful article to date was published in 2007. I still average one visitor per day from that article, and love the fact that work I did well over a year ago continues to pay off.

What’s not to love about that?

Link back to your site

One of the methods used by search engines to assess the value of a web site (relative to its competitors), is via the links it receives from other external sites.

A well-established article site is likely to have good page rank, so a link from such a site is likely to carry considerable weight (i.e. help your own page rank).

This only works if the article you’re linking from is original, and the link back to your site is contextual.

Contextual linking

A contextual link is one that provides a search engine with a key word useful to your business. Such a link helps the search engine to understand what the site is about, and how to index it.

This means the page being linked from has to match both the text in the link, and the content on the page being linked to. For example, linking the text "stamp collecting" to a web site dedicated to motor racing probably won’t help the site’s search engine performance. Linking the text "stamp collecting" to a web site dedicated to stamp collecting is far more likely to pay off.

Combine with on-site lead generation

Article marketing works very well with lead generation. It requires a subtle hand, because article sites aren’t interested in publishing your advertising copy. They want something their readers will find useful.

A useful article is one that whets the appetite of its reader. A reader that finishes the article is likely to be in the author’s target market, and ready to find out more. It’s perfectly natural for the author to link to more information from such an article, and it’s just as likely the reader will want to click through.

Article marketing works

Article marketing pays off in 4 different ways. Not just once, but over and over again. I regard it as an excellent use of my time.

In return for sharing some of your expertise with the world, you get to boost the number of qualified prospects you get back your site. What’s not to love about that?

Writing SEO Articles

This is the way to get the most use from the SEO technique. Never ever force the keyword when writing the article. The article needs to be informational, forthright and entertaining to read. Do not ignore usage of correct grammar just to get the keywords into the article.

Increase Web Traffic

The most important aspect of automatic article submission is you spend your time writing. In summary the best tool for SEO and increasing web traffic is article marketing with the long term goal of building backlinks and in turn ranking in the search engines.

Starting an Internet Business with No Capital

With these tough economic times we are seeing today, it is no wonder that everyone is feeling the pinch and worried about the future.  Anyone’s job could be lost at any time.  What better way to prepare yourself for the future than starting an internet business to supplement your income.

Now, the problem now becomes one of what type of business can be started with little or no capital outlay on your part.  Most internet businesses require the building of a web site, the development of a product or product line, the collection of payments for the product and the delivery of the product to the customer.  All of these parts require capital to get set up and started.  However, there is one type of business that can be created with little or no capital.  That business is affiliate marketing.

In affiliate marketing, the only thing that needs to be accomplished is to become an affiliate partner with a vendor who has a product or service that you would like to promote.  The vendor has the web site to sell the product, to take payment from the customer, to deliver the product to the customer, and to track sales to the affiliate marketer to whom the vendor pays commissions.  So, the effort on the part of the affiliate marketer is to drive traffic to the vendor’s site or product page.

Okay, but how can an affiliate marketer promote the product without any capital? Well, this can be accomplished by writing articles about the product that is being promoted and submitting those articles to article directories.  Anyone who has a basic command of the English language and can use a word processor that can help out with grammar and spelling can create articles.  This is where the effort lies on your part — creating articles.  Please remember that success does not come from lack of effort, but the effort does not have to cost anything but time on your part.

The basic process is the create and article that will direct the reader to a free blog or Squidoo lens that you have built that will showcase the product of services that your are promoting.  The blog or lens will have direct links to the affiliate product.  The reason it is done this way is that many of the article directories will not allow a direct link to an affiliate page in their articles.  However, by building a blog or lens that directly relates to the product or service you are promoting, you will have a greater chance of making a sale.   By creating a blog you can also change the format and images that will make your product stand out.

Affiliate Marketing

How can we define affiliate marketing? The single fastest growth industry on the Internet is affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing is one of the fastest and most creative ways to build financial independence and have a career on the internet.

Profiting from Affiliate Marketing

If you’d like to make money online, one of the easiest ways to do so is with affiliate marketing networks. While affiliate marketing is one of the best ways to make profits online, that can seem overwhelming, especially for a beginner.

Maverick Money Makers

Maverick Money Makers is one of many online clubs that teach you how to set up your own online business.  With the stock market dropping many baby boomers are losing their retirement and looking to the internet to compensate.

Home business, work at home, internet marketing, there are tones of ways to make money on line.  The reason I recommend using a “club” is they lay out all the things you could spend many years and dollars learning on your own.  Many of these people, like Mack Michaels of Maverick Money Makers, started years ago when the only way to learn was by trial and error.

An internet “club” is like an online classroom.  Every internet guru has their own method and they all work.  But which one is right for you?  There are several that teach list building.  With just one click you send you ads to thousands of people.  There are some that teach using adwords (if you are brand new you’ll learn that term soon enough).

We have all had our share of self help and motivates that only make their money from selling the concept.  It is not like that with online clubs.  Yes they make money from the club but they are also doing online what they are teaching you to do online.  They don’t charge to make money.  They do it to limit the number of people they teach at any one time.  Some close the club at a certain number and may not reopen it for a year.

The reason I picked Maverick Money Makers is that Mack teaches it all.  He teaches how if you have money to invest and how to do the same things with little or no money to invest.  He teaches you how to make money with no product and no website.  He teaches how to use adwords, how to use articles, how to get free ads.  I could go on and on.

Online Business – Business-in-a-Box

Are you interested in starting your own online business and generate income while working from home, but are not sure where to begin?  Or have you already tried a few home-based business opportunities but have yet to make any money.

Well, you are not alone.  I too have fallen for the online hype and wasted a lot of time and money trying to make a go of it online, but I did not know how to go about and did not have the experience or knowledge to put everything into practice to make it work.  Well, here are a few tips to starting your online home base business that can help you start making money.

To have a successful online business, you need to own your own domain and have a web site where you can change the information on the site whenever it is necessary.  In many cases, you will ideally want to be able to offer a free newsletter that your visitors can subscribe to.  This means that you will want to have an autoresponder program installed with your web site that can send out a series of follow-up emails to your customer list. You will also need products to sell as well, and, if they are not digital products, then you would either need to have an affiliate relationship with a company who does fulfillment, or you will have to add functions to process the orders, keep inventory, and ship the goods to the customer – all of these add levels on complexity to your home based business.

However, before you go about developing this online business, you should understand that there is internet marketing that is required to go along with it.  Once you have a web site, you will need visitors to come to your site to generate sales and signups to your newsletter. Therefore, an ideal situation would be a business that offers full training and  a forum for support where you can go to discuss your business and get assistance in those areas where you need help.

future shock work at home wealthjetnumberoneopportunity

The answer to these questions can be solved through the use of a business-in-a-box.  This type of online business is a full turn-key solution that has a completed web site that has been hooked up to affiliates, has an autoresponder. ready to send out those newsletters to your subscribers. The web site should also be set up so you can change the colors and format, add banners and text links, and optimize the site for search engines.

You may be thinking that this is too complicated and too hard to understand.  However, that is advantage of working with a turn-key business solution that sets everything up for you and provides training and an active forum to get all of the support you need.

Now starting an online home based business does not mean that you’ll be generating an income right away.  Like any business, this takes time and dedication to get through all of the training and to learn everything you can about making the business work.  This is a step-by-step process that takes times but each piece of the puzzle helps to build your business.  The marketing and advertising of the web site is a consistent and ongoing process that will build momentum over time that will put you site in front of as many people as possible.

If you decide to start your own online company, get ready for an exciting ride.  You will experience frustration and setbacks, but, if you are determined and work diligently you will persevere and come out on top in the long run.  The learning curve may be steep in the early going, but as long as you do not give up, you will start making money online.

How to Start an e-commerce Business

How to Start an e-commerce Business

Setting up an online e-commerce business is simple. This article describes the processes and functions of an e-commerce Web site. Everything you need to know about How-to plan and start an online business is provided.

Knowing how to start e-commerce businesses is one of the first steps to setting up an online business. First, the initial business plan and idea must be established, and then the e-commerce structure follows. In case you need instruction on the initial business plan of an online business, I will briefly outline it. If you are familiar with business plans, then skip to the third paragraph.

online business,how to

A business plan defines what service or goods your business will provide. It also defines who your customers are, and which market your business should serve. Also, it includes a market analysis, which determines profitability and potential of the market you intend to serve. Next, it defines direction of your business development and growth, as well as operations. In a nutshell, that is a very simplistic business plan.

In order for me to describe the process of starting an e-commerce business, I will describe the outline of how e-commerce works. First, a customer visits a Web site that retails goods. Next, the customer selects goods to make a purchase. The selected goods are added to a shopping cart system. Once the customer is ready to pay for the goods he proceeds to the checkout, where he provides payment and arrangements to receive the goods. Finally, a receipt of purchase is provided via e-mail and usually posted on the screen.

Next, we look at the structure that facilitates this process. First, the e-commerce site is constructed on a Web site that one makes with Web development software. This kind of software is usually Microsoft Front Page or other HTML graphical software, like Flash Dream Weaver, or Joomla. The shopping cart system is usually simple to install software, like php extensions. Once the Web site is setup and the shopping cart system is loaded, the goods may be listed and priced for sale on the shopping cart system.

The next step is the payment processing. A merchant (an e-commerce Web site owner) must establish a bank account and an agreement with a payment processor. A payment processor is an entity that processes credit card numbers and other forms of payment. Processor agreements are termed contracts that usually require a merchant to provide a 1-800 number so that customers may receive help with their purchases should they need. The contracts are usually a minimum of 2 year service agreement. Also, the merchant’s bank account must be linked to the processor, so deposits and withdrawals may be made.

A merchant, like any other business retailer, must provide the processor with a tax identification number or social security (if the merchant is a sole proprietorship). Since we are discussing legal requirements, another need-to-know fact is that sales tax is only applicable if the purchaser’s home state is the same as the shipping point of the goods purchased. For example, if I’m from Texas and I purchase goods to be shipped to my home address in San Antonio, TX, and the merchant lives and ships from New York, NY, I don’t pay sales tax. However, this doesn’t mean that the merchant is tax exempt, federally.

The transportation of goods is an important step. Most e-commerce Web sites are set up for drop shipping. Drop shipping is simply a middle-man approach to retailing on the Web. Drop shipping setup is setup to process orders and payment, but the merchant doesn’t ship the goods. Actually, the order is relayed to a wholesaler, who in turn ships the goods to the original customer. In the end, the e-commerce site only captures a margin of profit from each good sold. Other e-commerce web sites function so that they process the orders and ship the goods all in-house. This is more of an e-bay approach. Beware if high volumes occur, and then you may need to hire help so that you can fill all the orders.

Overall, this is the general instruction of how to start e-commerce businesses. Now that you have seen how it functions inside and out, it’s time for you to begin your business planning.

Affiliate Marketing vs. Drop Shipping: Which Is Best For You?

With the pending release of Niche Blueprint by Tim Godfrey and Steve Clayton, there’s suddenly a lot of interest in the Drop Shipping model of setting up an online business. If you’re not familiar with Niche Blueprint you can find out what all the excitement is about by clicking here.

If you’ve looked into making money from home online you’re no doubt familiar with Affiliate Marketing. The attractions of affiliate marketing are: the ease with which you can start earning money quickly, and, the simplicity of the business model.

You can sign up for most affiliate programs, such as Clickbank, within a few minutes. Then, using Pay Per Click ads, you can drive traffic to the Vendor’s sales page and receive a commission for every purchaser who arrives at the sales page through your ad.

At the end of the month you receive your commission check. This is the simplest model, and you can make it more complex if you choose.

For example, you can create a Review Website and recommend several products for affiliate commissions. You can optimize the website to rank high in the search engine results for specific keywords, and reduce or eliminate your Pay Per Click ads.

There are currently more than 100,000 affiliates who are registered with Clickbank, and more than 10,000 products available to promote. Many people make part time extra income as affiliates, and some make a terrific income using the affiliate model.

Tim Godfrey and Steve Clayton released Commission Blueprint last summer, and taught thousands of clients how to make full time incomes as affiliate marketers.

Now, these two successful partners are collaborating again on Niche Blueprint, an entirely new program that also shows you how to successfully make money from home with an online business. This time the business model is based on drop shipping.

Drop shipping has been used for quite a few years by small retailers. They display sample items, and then, when a customer makes a purchase, the wholesaler ships the product directly to the customer. Recently, this model has become more popular with online entrepreneurs who set up online retail sites, or even sell through eBay.

With drop shipping, as with affiliate marketing, you don’t have to handle any products. In both cases your business success rests on your efforts to market products.

With drop shipping however, you have more presence in the transaction, as a seller or retailer. You collect the money from the customer and, in turn, pay the wholesaler or manufacturer, often with a credit card.

The biggest risk in this is that the product will “back order”. In other words the wholesaler will not have the product available for immediate shipment. This leaves you, as the seller, responsible for handling the customer service challenge in such situations.

Obviously, your success as a merchant depends very much on the reliability of your “drop shippers.”

One of the advantages of the Niche Blueprint program is that it connects you with the most reliable wholesalers in the industry. This is a great advantage right out of the gate.

Now, add to that the thorough educational components, both video and manuals, and the website templates that come as part of the complete, Niche Blueprint, start-up package, and it’s easy to see that Niche Blueprint will pay for itself very quickly. Not only will you save weeks of valuable time getting your business running, you’ll start earning money much sooner from your own, online, drop-shipping site.
